This week’s featured photo brings us to the World Showcase.
The World Showcase in Epcot has 11 pavilions representing different countries. Other countries were also proposed to have pavilions, but were never built. One of those proposed pavilions was supposed to be Equatorial Africa, which would blend elements of the cultures of different African countries. Unfortunately, the plans were never made a reality. Instead, Disney added the Outpost in between China and Germany.
Here is what you will find in the Outpost area:
- Refreshment Cool Post – food and drink
- Village Traders – An open-air market with African-themed items.
- Coin Press Machine
Also in this area are the canoes in the picture above. It’s something that would be very easy to walk past, especially if you are looking around at everything in the pavilion. Disney is great with details and there is always something new to see. The canoes are across from Village Traders and the Refreshment Cool Post, so make sure to stroll over to the water the next time you are in the Outpost area in the World Showcase. It’s not huge, but it’s a fun place to explore!
Have you spent time in the Outpost area?
Thanks for reading!

We always enjoy the market place and drums. I have been to WDW many times but never noticed the canoes. Thanks for the heads up.
Hi Sandy! Glad to help. This was the first time I noticed the canoes too. 🙂
