There have been a lot of changes announced as Disney World prepares to reopen next month. In addition to safety measures that have been put in place, Disney has now canceled some events.
Disney announced today that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will not take place this year. They sited the fact that the stage shows, parades, and fireworks would not be able to take place this year, so that helped them make the decision to cancel all the Halloween parties for this year. The parties have become more crowded with each passing year, so it’s not a surprise that they decided to cancel. They could have tried it with limited tickets being sold, but guests still would miss out on the stage shows, parade, and fireworks, which are a big part of the party. It’s hard to imagine the Halloween party without Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade.
Another event that has been cancelled for the rest of the year is the Disney H2O Glow Nights. This fun party takes place at Typhoon Lagoon and also draws a crowd. Disney has not given a reopening date for the waterparks, which is most likely a good reason why this event was cancelled for the rest of 2020.
If you have purchased tickets to either one of these events, don’t worry. Disney said that anyone who has purchased tickets to either of these events will be able to get refunds. They will be assisting guests with these refunds over the coming weeks.
There is no decision on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Disney stated that they will monitor the new environment closely and will make decisions as they learn more from government and health officials.
Did you plan on going to the Halloween party or H2O Glow Nights this year?
