Exciting additions are coming to Hollywood Studios. Disney will soon be closing the Grand Avenue are to make way for the new Monsters, Inc area.
It will be very exciting to be able to step into the world of Monsters, Inc and finally experience the roller coaster themed after the door vault chase scene! However, with these changes comes the closure of some favorites. For me, I am definitely sad to see Muppet*Vision 3D leave the park. The Muppets was always a favorite growing up and I still love watching their movies as an adult. The 3D show was typical Muppets, with lovable characters in an always chaotic situation.
In addition to Muppet*Vision 3D, both PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano are closing as well. PizzeRizzo is a big, two story quick service restaurant that serves pizza, salad, subs, cannolis, cookies, and drinks. There are different rooms with different themes and there are plenty of fun details to see (like the signs that say “100% Authentic New Yorkish pizza!”). It’s a fun place to grab a quick meal. So, if you want to see them before they closed for good you can visit PizzeRizzo and Muppet*Vision 3D through June 7. Both PizzeRizzo and Muppet*Vision 3D will close for good on June 8. The closures are noted on their pages on the Disney website.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano does not have as much time left before it closes, unfortunately. This Italian restaurant will be closing permanently on May 11, almost a month before PizzeRizzo and Muppet*Vision 3D. Mama Melrose’s has a good selection of popular Italian dishes on their menu as well as both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. If you are going to be in the parks before May 11, and you like this restaurant, then I would recommend making reservations so you can enjoy it one more time.
It’s always sad to see things close for good, but fun things are on the horizon for the new area. That roller coaster through the door vault is sure to be amazing!
What do you think about these changes?
Thanks for reading!
