After Jellyrolls closed last year, people wondered if Disney would replace it with another entertainment venue. While we don’t have an opening date, Disney has announced another entertainment venue is coming to the BoardWalk, as well as other experiences.
Coming later this year, guests will get to experience Disney World’s newest lounge, Hurly-Burly. Unlike Jellyrolls, this lounge will be open during the afternoon, as well as at night. During the afternoon families are welcome to join for trivia and other fun games led by a host. At night Hurly-Burly turns into a 21 and over live music venue. In addition to the music, light bites and coastal-inspired cocktails will be available.

Joining the new lounge on the BoardWalk, a favorite store in Disney Springs is opening a new retail experience on the BoardWalk. Like the Disney Springs store, Basin on BoardWalk will offer handcrafted products like natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more. The store will also have a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press so guests can personalize their soap. This is going to be a nice addition to the BoardWalk and I have a feeling it will be a popular stop for guests.

While announcing the lounge and store, Disney also mentioned a new quick-service restaurant coming to the BoardWalk area. No other details were given, like the name or what type of food will be available, but it’s nice to have something go in the old location of Big River Grille & Brewing Works. That restaurant closed 2 1/2 years ago in January 2024. I’ll keep an eye out for more information, I’m excited to see what Disney has in store for that space.
The BoardWalk area has always been one of my favorite areas on property. These new additions are going to be good for the area, in my opinion anyway. Do you like visiting the BoardWalk area too? What is your favorite thing to do on the BoardWalk?
Thanks for reading!
Liz
