Disney recently unloaded a pretty big list of new experiences that will be coming to Disney World next year. It sounds like 2019 is going to be a pretty fun year!
Each park will have different events going on throughout the year, so there’s no shortage of things to see. The additions include new characters, new dance parties, special merchandise, and more.
Magic Kingdom – Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration
- The new “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party” will take place in from of Cinderella Castle. Guests can dance to “Mickey Mouse Club” songs with Mickey, Minnie, and other favorite Disney characters.
- Check out the Dapper Dans and other entertainers on Main Street U.S.A. to hear songs honoring Mickey and Minnie.
- Specially themed merchandise and food will be available.
- Since this is a “Surprise Celebration,” there will extra entertainment and other experiences that will pop up here and there around Magic Kingdom.
Epcot
- To start the year, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts will be returning from January 18 – February 25.
- For 2019, the Disney on Broadway Concert Series will be running seven days a week.
- Starting March 6, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will return.
- The Garden Rocks Concert Series will also expand to seven days a week this year.
Admittedly, these festivals aren’t new, but the extension of their respective concert series is nice to hear.
Hollywood Studios
- Pixar Place will transform into a Municiberg city block.
- A party will be held at the end of the block celebrating Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, and Frozone.
- Edna Mode with have her own location to meet guests where she will be showcasing some of her best creations.
- Guests will also be able to look for clues as to where Jack-Jack has disappeared to.
- Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. will be meeting guests at Walt Disney Presents.
Animal Kingdom
- In honor of the 25th anniversary of “The Lion King” Timon and Rafiki will be holding the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party” on Discovery Island.
- There will special three-dimensional photo opportunities, as well, that will recreate scenes from “The Lion King.”
Of course, in addition to these announcements for 2019, Star War: Galaxy’s Edge will also be opening sometime in late fall 2019. Enjoy the time in Hollywood Studios now, because once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens it’s going to be crazy busy in that park!
