While planning my last trip, sans husband and kids, I realized that my friend (and Main Street Wishes blogger) Maureen would be celebrating a birthday during our time in Disney World. So I decided to order a special dessert for her that would be delivered during our lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe.
You can order cakes from Disney World and have them delivered to many different restaurants on property. The prices will range depending on how big the cake is and what type of cake you order. The price can range from around $25 to $150 for cakes.
I opted to try something different that I had heard about for her birthday. Disney makes a Chocolate Cinderella Glass Slipper that you can order when you dine at certain restaurants. We had lunch plans at the Grand Floridian Cafe and luckily the dessert is available at the Grand Floridian, only in white chocolate though. Cinderella’s Royal Table is the only place you can get this dessert in milk chocolate.
So I started doing some research to find out where to call for the dessert. After finding the number for the Grand Floridian I called and put in my order for the White Chocolate Cinderella Glass Slipper. The cast member who answered the phone took my name, Maureen’s name, the date of our reservation, the name of the restaurant, and the time of our reservation. I did not have to prepay for the dessert, it was added to the bill the day of our reservation.
During my research I came across multiple stories of people ordering the chocolate slipper, but not having it show up at the table. Once they spoke to someone at the restaurant the cast members brought it to the table quickly, which means they must have some at each restaurant.
Unfortunately, my story is not different, but I was glad that I had read the stories ahead of time so I knew to ask. So if you decide order the chocolate slipper definitely check with someone at the restaurant when you check in to make sure they received the order.
Once I told them that I had called months ago and placed the order, they took note of where we were sitting (luckily I was able to do this without ruining the surprise). They were able to bring the dessert out pretty fast after I talked to them and it looked beautiful! You would have never known that they did not receive the order, so major points to the Grand Floridian Cafe for that!
So, what exactly is the chocolate slipper? It’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s white chocolate in a slipper shape, filled with mousse, and topped with raspberries. There was another chocolate piece next to the slipper in a teardrop shape and it too was filled with chocolate mousse, it also had white chocolate pieces sticking out of the mousse. For a (delicious) decoration on the plate there was some raspberry sauce with white chocolate designs mixed in and “Happy Birthday Maureen” was written in chocolate, complete with a chocolate Mickey icon. There was even a chocolate castle on the plate!
Maureen shared the dessert and, wow, it was so good! The chocolate, both types, and the raspberry sauce were so good. I felt bad eating it though, because the presentation was really beautiful.

Remember, if you order any kind of dessert make sure to check and verify that they have the order. It’s disappointing to plan out a nice surprise only to realize they never got the order. Hopefully it won’t happen, but it can’t hurt to double check. The cake orders are probably less likely to get messed up because there is more that goes into ordering a cake from Disney. The chocolate slipper does not have any customization, you just ask to order the Chocolate Cinderella Glass Slipper and that’s it.
This is a dessert I would definitely order again. It’s fun for both kids and adults. My friend loved it, as did I , and I know my daughter would love getting a chocolate slipper for dessert. Plus, the price for the chocolate slipper is more affordable for a lot of people. The cakes can get expensive pretty fast.
Thanks again to the Grand Floridian Cafe and the cast members who were able to make this happen, even though they did not receive the order. It was a beautiful presentation and the cast members were all fantastic!
Have you ever ordered the Chocolate Cinderella Glass Slipper?
Thanks for reading!

Is the dessert included if you have a dining plan? We have reservations for my daughter’s 4th birthday there in 3 weeks!! Thanks!
Hi Elisha!
I don’t think it can be included with the dining plan, since it’s a special dessert, but I am not 100% positive. When you call to order it I would definitely ask them. It would be nice if it was included 🙂 It’s such a cute dessert, you daughter will love it!
