One of the fun extras guests can book is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. This is where young guests can get a princess or a prince makeover, and it’s a really cute experience.
Full disclosure, our experience was at the Disney Springs location, which is not currently open. Both the Disney Springs location and the Grand Floridian location have been temporarily closed for years. There is hope that at least one of these locations will be brought back, since it says temporarily closed and not permanently closed on the website. I hope they do, because the Disney Springs location was a fun one to visit. So all the pictures are from that location, not the Magic Kingdom location, however the experience is the same.
This experience is for guests ages 3-12 and there are three packages to choose from: The Fairy Tale Package, The Kingdom Package, and the Adventure Package. When we booked this experience for our daughter years ago, there was also a Frozen package where guests could choose between Elsa or Anna. I’m hoping they bring that package back, because it was really cute.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Packages
The Fairy Tale Package starts at $119.99 (plus tax) and includes a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique shirt, a princess sash and cinch bag, shimmering makeup and nail polish, and a choice of hairstyle. This is the least expensive package of the three and if your child isn’t into wearing the princess dresses, or they want to wear a princess dress they already have, this would be a perfect option.
The Kingdom Package starts at $229.99 (plus tax). This package includes a Disney Princess gown of your choice, princess crown and wand, princess necklace, princess sash and cinch bag, shimmering makeup and nail polish, and choice of hairstyle. This is the most expensive of the packages, but it also includes the most. So if you are looking to go all out then this is the choice for you.
The Adventure Package starts at $59.99 (plus tax). This package includes a knight shirt, a sword and shield, and hairstyling with gel. This is a good package for any little prince that wants to dress up for the day. If you are eating at Cinderella’s Royal Table this package would be fun for pictures with the princesses.
The Experience
Now for the experience. When it is your child’s turn, there will be a Fairy Godmother in Training waiting at the door to help and point you to the check in area. When you get to the check in podium you will be asked which package your child would like.
Once it is your turn you will be brought to a changing room, this is why they ask guests to bring the dress to change into there. When you open the door you will see the dress hanging up. After the Fairy Godmother in Training leaves the dressing room, some magic happens. The lights in the room dim and the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella appears in the mirror! This was so cute and our daughter absolutely loved it!
After the Fairy Godmother finishes, it’s time for the princess to put on her dress. While you are in the dressing room, make sure to look around. There are a lot of details and it’s a really nice room. It definitely gives off a royal feeling!
Once the child is dressed, they press a button that lets the Fairy Godmother in Training know they are ready. You are then brought to the boutique, where the Fairy Godmother in Training takes you to the makeover chair.
This is where the kids get their hair, makeup, and nails done. There is seating all around where family members can sit and watch the transformation. The mirrors by the area where the kids sit are pretty big and on top is an emblem. On the mirrors at the Disney Springs location it was Cinderella’s coach.
This process takes a little bit of time, but for the cost you don’t want it rushed. Our daughter loved it when we did this and others I know who have done this have loved it too. There’s a reason this usually has be be booked out a good deal before your arrival date.
At the end of the transformation the Fairy Godmother in Training sprinkles pixie dust in the child’s hair with a wand. I’m not sure if the saying is still the same, but when our Fairy Godmother in Training sprinkled the pixie dust she said, “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo. May all your princess dreams and wishes come true!”
I definitely recommend doing this at least once, if you have a child who is interested. It’s a fun experience for both the child and the adults. Now, if only they had a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for adults!
