Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some good guesses, but four people knew where to find the sign.
Congratulations to Shelly, Doug, John, and Kevin, who all knew the sign can be found in Animal Kingdom. Specifically, it can be found at the gibbons exhibit near the entrances to Kali River Rapids and Maharajah Jungle Trek. Shelly pointed out that they are very loud and yes they are, you can’t miss this exhibit. Given their volume, guests will often hear them before actually seeing them, so if you’re looking for Kali River Rapids just follow the gibbon sounds. This area is surrounded by water and the gibbons roam freely on the island. It’s a good place to stop and hang out for a few to watch some gibbons swing around the island.
As mentioned above, this exhibit is located near Kali River Rapids, one of the rides at Animal Kingdom. This is a fun, but potentially very wet, ride. Guests board a circular raft and head out on the river. This is a free floating raft, so there is no way to tell which seats will get soaked and which will get less wet, which is part of the fun. There are some little drops, but the biggest thrill is the 20ft drop. This is the part of the ride where you hope you are not the ones facing backwards. If you do end up going down the drop backwards, prepare to get very wet. Of course, if it’s one of those very hot Florida days getting soaked on Kali River Rapids might actually be a welcome occurrence.
Over at Maharajah Jungle Trek, guests will see a variety of animals. This is a good trail to take if you are looking to slow down a bit and have a break from rushing to different rides. Animals on this trail include tigers, bats, gibbons, Eld’s deer, blackbuck, Komodo dragon, Malayan flying fox, water buffalo, and over 50 species of birds. For guests that have animal lovers in their party this would be a great trail to explore.
Congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the sign and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
Do you stop by to see the gibbons when you’re in Animal Kingdom?
Thanks for reading!
