Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. We had some great guesses, but 16 of you knew where to find this prop.
Congratulations to Sam, Doug, Mary, Paula, Rylie, Matt, Randi, Kelly, Jessica, Jona, Edward, Ann-Marie, Susana, Larry & Melinda, and Snowmeow who all knew the prop is located at The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot. It’s still based on ocean life and conservation, but there’s a Finding Nemo theme to parts of the building now.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a really cute ride that’s great for families with kids of any age. Clam mobiles, which is an Omnimover system (constant motion, like Haunted Mansion or Spaceship Earth) take guests on a journey with Marlin and Dory to find Nemo. The prop in the above picture is in the scene when you are passing by the sharks. What’s really cool about this ride is that takes you past the aquarium and projects the animated characters from the movie in with the real fish. It’s one of those fun touches Disney adds to the rides.
Details and theming aren’t just on the ride, the theming starts outside with the seagulls and continues with the queue line. The idea is that as you walk through the queue line you are being brought from on the beach to under the sea. It’s easy to miss the theme as you are winding your way through the line, because the focus is to get to the ride. Next time you hop on line for “The Seas with Nemo & Friends” I recommend taking a look around. It’s really a cute theme and compliments the ride very well.
After the ride, guests can wonder around the building. There’s other stuff to see in addition to the ride. Bruce’s Shark World and the aquarium (it’s big and there are lots of viewing opportunities) are also in this building. Turtle Talk with Crush is another part of the building, but it’s temporarily closed. It’s very cute and great for little kids, so I recommend checking it out when it reopens.
Congratulations to those that knew where to find the prop and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
Have you been on The Seas with Nemo & Friends?
Thanks for reading!
