A few days ago I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses and quite a few people got it right.
The picture was taken at the Wilderness Lodge at the check-in area for Story Book Dining. It’s a really cute table and I believe it was for sale, but I’m not sure how long it will be on display. It fits perfectly in that area though, since you get to meet Dopey and Grumpy at Story Book Dining.
Wilderness Lodge is one of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts that is located near Magic Kingdom. It’s not on the monorail loop, but it does have boat service to Magic Kingdom. When you first walk into the hotel the first thing you will notice is the beautiful and impressive lobby. You feel like you are in a log cabin when you look around the lobby and the stone fireplace is very cozy (it’s also cool to see the stone go all the way up to the high ceiling). It’s one of those lobbies where you walk in and just look around at the grandeur of it.
There’s also a water feature in the lobby that goes outside. There’s a little bridge that crosses the water feature inside the lobby and it’s a good place to stand if you want to watch the water. The water feature continues outside with a waterfall that runs down towards the pool. Everyone can see it from a path and it’s a great spot to take pictures. Also, while you are exploring the grounds, make sure to stop by and see the geyser, which erupts on the hour.
There are other great details around the grounds that keep with the theme of the resort. I loved the tracks in from of Reunion Station, it’s a little detail but that’s what makes the resorts fun.
You can also find some good food at Wilderness Lodge. There are table service restaurants, quick service restaurants, and a lounge.

For shopping, guests can take a look around Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, which is located in the lobby. You can’t miss it, with the cute Mickey and friends totem pole at the entrance to the shop.
Wilderness Lodge is a great resort to visit. If you have time during your visit to Disney World, I recommend exploring this resort and trying one of the dining options available here. It’s definitely a resort worth seeing!
