Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses, but five people knew where to find the sign.
Congratulations to John and Carol, Abbie, Melanie, Lisa, and Kevin, who all knew the sign can be found at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The pathway mentioned on the sign leads guests to Magic Kingdom. The walk to the park is about a 10 to 15 minute walk, depending on the pace. Something really nice about the pathway, it has a dedicated security checkpoint for guests walking to Magic Kingdom. So that means guests using the pathway do not have to go through the bigger, busier pathway at the entrance of the park. The pathway is one of the transportation options to Magic Kingdom. For those at the Contemporary Resort the monorail is another option, though you would have to do the full loop before getting to Magic Kingdom. The Contemporary Resort is the stop after Magic Kingdom.
While the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Resorts have their monorail stations outside of the resorts, the Contemporary was built to allow the monorail to pass right through the building. This resort is also home to one the famous Mary Blair murals, which can be seen from the monorail. There are a number of restaurants (both quick service and table service) at this resort, including California Grill, which gives guests great views of Magic Kingdom while dining. Plus, guests who dine at California Grill can watch the nightly fireworks from the observation deck at the restaurant. It’s one of Disney World’s original resorts and one of Disney’s more popular resorts.

Hello Liz I just wanted to mention that there is a duplicate sign prior to walking to the Polynesian resort that has a security check point especially this year for the Fourth of July that might not be up all the time, but it was this year!! just an FYI
That’s good to know, thank you! I’ve only done the pathway from the Contemporary to MK, so I didn’t know about the security check point on the pathway for the Poly, but that makes sense. That’s such a great resort, I love it there. You’re lucky it’s your home resort. 🙂
