This week’s Snackshot is a fun treat available in Disney Springs.
Amorette’s Patisserie is located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs, next to the World of Disney Store. One of the items this store is known for is the character dome cake. These cakes are, as the name suggests, dome shaped. The cakes are decorated with the colors of different Disney characters, like Mickey and Donald. In addition to the dome cakes there are other pastries (some themed after other Disney characters), crepes, sandwiches, and drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic). One of the drinks on the menu, Sparkling Red, comes with a white chocolate Minnie Mouse topper.
The cake in this week’s picture is one of their petit cakes that was available when I visited this past October. The cakes are always decorated nicely and when themed after a character, it’s clear which Disney character it represents. The Maleficent cake has layers of vanilla chiffon, caramel, shortbread crumbles, and milk chocolate mousse. Since we are headed into the holiday season there will probably be some holiday cakes and pastries available now. Seeing the different decorated cakes and pastries is why I love going into Amorette’s to look around, there are always such beautiful baked goods to see.
