This week’s Snackshot brings us to Disney Springs.
Art’s Famous Fried Chicken is on the menu at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin,’ which has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Disney World. I love decor in this restaurant. It has a rustic/charming feeling to it. There is a sense of comfort you feel when you walk in this restaurant, which starts the whole experience off on the right foot. It’s very welcoming, but I think that also has a lot to do with those who work there. Everyone we meet at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is always super friendly and welcoming.
Having tried fried chicken at different places on property, my favorite was at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. However, since first visiting Chef Art Smith’s this has become my favorite chicken. It’s seriously good chicken! It’s buttermilk-brined for 24 hours and you can tell, it is so juicy and flavorful. Once the brining is done, the chicken is fried. The crispiness of the fried coating mixed with the juiciness of the chicken is delicious. I was seriously impressed with this dish and have gotten it each time I visit.
Sides are also included with this chicken dish. One of the sides is a helping of super creamy mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are my favorite side dish, so I tend to be critical. These were so good that I could have made a meal of just the potatoes, seriously. They were some of the creamiest potatoes that I have had. Another side included is the cheddar drop biscuit, which is also very good.
There are lots of great choices on the menu at this restaurant. Friends and family that I have dined with here have all enjoyed their meals, including the drinks. The Florida Crush and Apple Pie A La Mode are a couple of favorite drinks to get when we visit.
Good food, good drinks, and super friendly staff makes for a very enjoyable dining experience for all. I can’t wait to get back to Disney World and visit Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ again!
Hope you enjoyed this week’s Saturday Snackshot! Have you ever tried the chicken at Chef Art Smith’s? What’s your favorite dish or drink there?
