Coronado Springs is going through a pretty big refurb. It includes a new building and room refurbs. Constructions walls were set up in quite a few areas when I was there in May.
The grounds of Coronado Springs are really nice, but I was left disappointed with my room. The hotel is going through a refurb and I definitely got one of the older rooms. However, it sounds like some of the rooms are done with the refurb. So hopefully people will start getting those rooms.
Judging from the pictures that Inquisitr.com posted it looks like the redesign of these rooms includes getting rid of the carpet, just like in the new refurbed Pop Century rooms. At first I wasn’t a fan of the redesign of the Pop rooms, but they are growing on me. Not having a carpet in the room will probably make it easier to keep it looking cleaner.
Something else that is new to the rooms at Coronado Springs is the addition of a second sink. The second sink is so helpful for getting ready, especially when you have a family of four in the room. This is going to be a welcome addition to the rooms for many people.
Disney kept the sliding doors to close off the vanity area, they just changed the look a little bit. Now the doors look like barn doors that you can slide to the side. I like it!
Like the new rooms at Pop, Coronado Springs is getting flat screens on the wall, which opens up space on the shelf. The pictures show more charging stations with USB ports, which will meet the needs of all the phones, cameras, and other tech stuff that need to be charged daily. This is fantastic, because the older rooms do not have this option, just regular plugs.
Another great feature is that there is room under the bed to store things. The beds seem to be up high enough where families can store luggage and other bags underneath, which will help to maximize the space. Disney looks to have kept the queen size beds in the room, which is good.
There is a small closet in the bathroom to hang clothes. The closet allows guests to hang clothes, but keep it separate from the bathroom by closing the doors. As with the new rooms at Pop, the curtains on the shower are a thing of the past. There is now a glass sliding door in the shower.
Each room still has a mini-fridge, so you can still keep items cold in your room (like those yummy leftovers from Disney restaurants). There is also a new coffee maker in the room.
Judging from the pictures the rooms are going to look pretty nice. I like that they are leaving the carpets out of the rooms and that they added a second sink. With the addition of these refurbed rooms I would definitely stay at Coronado Springs again. It’s a fun resort and the cast members were all wonderful there!
Are you excited for the new rooms at Coronado Springs?
Thanks for reading!

We’ll be there Wednesday hoping for a refurbished room.
Hi Ami!
That’s exciting! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get a refurbed room. I hope you have a magical time!
Do you know when they’ll be done? We will be there in August.
Hi Anna!
The refurb is supposed to last through 2017, so I don’t think they are going to be done by August. I would suggest asking for a refurbed room. If they have one available I’m sure they will give it to you. You can call and see if you can put that request on your reservation. If they can’t put the request on your reservation then I would definitely ask when you get to the hotel.
Enjoy your time at Coronado Springs! I recommend the garlic parmesan potato wedges at the Pepper Market, they’re very good. 🙂 Have a magical time!
Although the rooms without carpet might be cleaner, I am wondering how that will affect sound in the resorts. I would expect them to be noisier. The rooms above will transmit every foot step. I would be interested in if that proves to be true.
That’s a good point, Randi. I hadn’t thought about that. Really hoping Disney thought about that when they made the change in the rooms. If not, I guess I’ll always be requesting the top floor. 🙂
