Disney has recently announced the changes that will be coming to Hollywood Studios to make way for the new Monsters Inc. area. There will be lots of new things coming to the park, but one thing will be leaving.
With the new Monsters Inc. area guests will finally be getting the roller coaster everyone has been talking about for years, a roller coaster themed around the door vault chase scene. That scene at the end of the movie will be such a fun roller coaster and many people are excited to experience it, myself included. There will also be dining, shopping, and a new theater show added to this new land.
Like any new additions in a Disney park, when something new comes in, usually something old has to go. Unfortunately, this time it’s the Muppets that will have to go. Muppet*Vision 3D will have to close to make way for one of the new features in the Monsters Inc. area. However, Disney did say, “As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” We’ll see what that means when they update next year.
In other Muppet news, Disney has announced that the Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and teaming up with music stars to put on a “rockin’ music festival!” The new theme for the coaster is sure to include some laughs, because how could it not if the Muppets are involved. It will be interesting to see more of Disney’s ideas for including the Muppets on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
