This week’s ears in the spotlight were the first ones released in a collection that represents popular Disney Parks rides and attractions.
The Main Attraction Space Mountain ear headband represents one of the classic and most popular rides in Magic Kingdom. Even without seeing the name of the attraction on the side of the headband, it’s clear which attraction this headband represents.
The ears each have a different picture representing the ride. On the right ear is a silver design of the Space Mountain building. Leading from the right ear to the left ear is a silver vapor trail, which takes the place of a bow on these ears. The left ear features a 3D space rocket, like the ride vehicles. Both ears have a purple, star-field backdrop. If you look closely at those star-fields you’ll be able to see a hidden Mickey.
A sliver material covers the back of the ears. Featured on the back of the right ear is the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary logo. The sliver vapor is seen from the backside of the headband as well.
A white faux leather material with metallic silver lines covers the outside of the headband, and it gives the impression of the ride vehicle design. On the inside of the headband is a blue velour non-slip material and the side of the headband has Space Mountain embroidered on it.
The Main Attraction ear headband collection is a limited release collection. Disney will be releasing 12 special designs in the series and the Space Mountain design started off the collection. All the ears in this collection are available online. In addition, for those visiting Disney World, this collection of ears can also be found in shops on Disney property.
