This week’s ears in the spotlight are a really cute pair that are themed after Disney World’s newest ride.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened to guests on March 4 and it’s a very cute ride. Guests are passengers on Goofy’s train and, of course, things kind of go off the rails during the ride. There are 10 scenes throughout the ride and the scenes are really well done and make you feel like you are in the cartoon. Also, keep your eyes open for Hidden Mickeys, because this ride has a bunch.
The Ears
The ears on this headband are hollow plastic and inside each one is a disc with Mickey or Minnie on it. Both pictures of the characters are from scenes on the ride. The hollow ears remind me of bubbles and they are made of pretty thick plastic. The discs move around inside the ears, they are not glued down.
The Bow
Instead of a bow, these ears have the engine that is the same engine on the ride. It’s made of foam and sits on top of a spring, so it bounces as you walk. Conductor Goofy can be seen hanging out the side window of the train, which adds to the cuteness of these ears.
The Headband
The headband has a black, satin-like material on the outside. On each side of the headband there is something embroidered. On the side with Mickey in the ear the headband is embroidered with “Nothing Can Stop Us Now!,” which is the theme song for the cartoon from the ride, “Perfect Picnic.” The other side with Minnie in the ear has train tracks embroidered on it. The inside of the headband is also black, but the material is a velvet-like material.
These ears are adorable and make a nice addition to any ear headband/hat collection! Once the parks reopen you should be able to find these a select locations on Disney World property. I saw them in a couple of locations in Hollywood Studios, but we’ll have to wait and see when everything reopens. For now, you can get these ears on shopDisney.com for $29.99.
