This week’s ears in the spotlight were designed with the company’s 100th anniversary in mind.
To celebrate the anniversary, Disney is using platinum as the inspiration for the merchandise and decor. These ears are a perfect representation of that and the touch of purple pops, which helps these ears standout a bit.
The ears on this pair are soft and padded, but they have a little extra shine on them. On both sides of each ear are platinum colored appliqués, which are what make the ears sparkle in the sun. The shapes of the appliqués give off a Spaceship Earth vibe, so the ears also work if you are an EPCOT fan.
The bow is another part of these ears that makes them pop. The contrast of the sparkly purple color agains the platinum color of the rest of the headband really makes the bow stick out, in a good way. In the middle is a metal centerpiece with the Disney100 logo.
On the headband is a sparkly, platinum material on the outside. For the inside of the headband there is a non-slip velour platinum colored material, so it matches back to the rest of the headband.
These ears are really pretty, and ones that I ordered the second I saw them. If you are looking to collect some Disney100 merchandise, or if you like EPCOT merchandise, then these are a good pair to add to your collection. Just a quick note though, they disappeared from shopDisney.com for a bit after they were first released, so if you like this pair, I wouldn’t wait on ordering them.
