It was recently announced that Magic Kingdom in Disney World is getting a new land and two new Cars themed attractions. Following that announcement, Disney has now said where the new Cars attractions will be located.
We already know that both attractions will be located in Frontierland, but it’s now been announced that these attractions will be taking over the location of both Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America. Some people are understandably upset at the loss of these two attractions. I personally love seeing the steamboat with its lights on at night, but I’m also looking forward to the new rides.
As announced at D23, one of the new attractions will take guests on a fun and thrilling rally race through the mountains. The ride vehicles will twist and turn around bends, dodging geysers and splashing through mud holes. So those who like thrilling rides, this one is for you. The second ride will be geared towards younger guests, so not quite as fast. Not a lot of details have been released about this ride, but it will be something for the whole family.
Work on this new area will begin next year. So if you are visiting this year, you still have time to enjoy Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America.
