Big news was announced today regarding transportation in Disney World. It will be a welcome return to a lot of people who have been wondering if it was gone forever.
In a TikTok video today, @disneyparks announced that the Minnie Vans will return to service this summer! No other details were included, so it’s not clear yet if they mean transportation around property and airport transportation, but I’m guessing that’s what it means. There hasn’t been any word on the Minnie Vans for a really long time, so there was some definite doubt if this option would be returning, which makes this announcement exciting.

Minnie Vans are SUVs that have been painted red with white polka dots, hence the name (plus the obvious play on the word minivan). Disney teamed with Lyft to offer this paid service to guests, but the drivers are cast members employed by Disney. So during the ride guests will get helpful information and fun stories while chatting with the cast members. I remember one cast member telling me about her experience working in Animal Kingdom and she had a lot of fun stories. Things like that definitely make the rides more enjoyable.
The website still says that the Minnie Vans are temporarily unavailable with no mention of returning this summer. I’m sure we’ll get more information soon, but if you look at the Minnie Van page on the website I wouldn’t go by that pricing for the airport service, because that could change once a return date has been decided. Whether the price changes or not, it will be good to have this option back to disperse crowds a little more at the end of the day.
