Disney World is big on souvenirs. Most rides make you exit through the gift shop so you can take a look at all the fun themed items. Other souvenirs that have become popular are themed popcorn buckets and themed drink ware (steins, mugs, etc.).
I have some of the souvenir popcorn buckets, but no souvenir steins, so I was on the lookout for those during this last trip. It didn’t take long to find one I wanted to bring home. My first stop on arrival day was Hollywood Studios and I went to Backlot Express for some lunch. The menu has two different souvenir steins/cups pictured on it. One is a BB-8 cup with a straw and the other is the Chewbacca stein.
I opted to go with the Chewbacca stein. The nice thing about getting the souvenir stein is the cast members don’t put the drinks in them. They will give you a regular paper cup to use, so that way you’re not walking around with a sticky cup.
The Chewbacca stein has some good detail on it. From his facial features to the design of the handle you can easily tell this is designed after everyone’s favorite Wookiee. Chewbacca’s head opens to allow you to put in your beverage of choice.
The best thing about this stein is the price. I was fully expecting something like this to run at least $15-$17 in Disney World, but it was $12.99. That is really not bad for a souvenir stein from Disney World. I almost bought the BB-8 one too, but didn’t want to go to crazy since this was my first park on arrival day.
You can ask for the stein while ordering your food. As I said above, they will put your drink in a regular cup so the souvenir stein doesn’t get dirty. I really appreciate that they do this.
This is one souvenir I definitely feel is worth the money. I was pleasantly surprised by the price and everyone in the family loves it. If you are a Star Wars fan or you have someone in the family that is a Star Wars fan, then this would be a good souvenir for you. We love it!
Have you see the Chewbacca steins?
