Disney has spent some time refreshing and upgrading some areas of Fort Wilderness. Guests visiting now will see a new pool area and a refreshed lobby.
Fort Wilderness is a fun resort to stay at when in Disney. It’s one of the Magic Kingdom resorts, though it is not on the monorail line. The cabins at Fort Wilderness are now part of Disney Vacation Club, but if you can snag a reservation, it’s a great property to book for your trip. You will definitely want to rent a golf cart to get around the resort. It’s another expense, yes, but it definitely helps a lot, plus it’s fun to ride around on the golf cart. If you are staying at Fort Wilderness you can rent a golf cart by calling 407-824-2742. The cost as of this writing is $75 to $100 per day (tax is included).
Onto the new addition to the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool. To add more space for guests, Disney added a new zero-entry pool. In addition, more deck space was added along the existing pool, giving guests more places to relax. It’s not new, but make sure to check out the 67-foot corkscrew slide at the pool. The water slides are always a favorite among both kids and adults. There’s also an old-fashioned barrel carriage which features Mickey in his camping gear and pays tribute to Disney’s River Country, which was Disney World’s original water park.

Disney also gave the lobby a bit of a refresh. Part of the refresh is giving cast members the space to better help guests. Other changes include new artwork added to the space above the fireplace. In addition to the art work, Disney also added three scenes with Huey, Dewey, and Louie, which feature each of them enjoying activities that are available at Fort Wilderness. These scenes can be seen on shelves above the reception area, so make sure to look up when you enter the lobby, they’re really cute decorations.

Is Fort Wilderness a resort where you like to stay?
