Disney is always building on their attractions. The latest ride to receive enhancements will be the Jungle Cruise.
Don’t worry, the skippers and the jokes are not going anywhere. In fact, the skippers will now be a part of the journey on the cruise. It’s nice that they will have an even bigger role in the story now, since they’re one of the biggest draws of the ride. I know I’m not alone in looking forward to hearing all those corny jokes on the ride!
The story of the ride will now follow a skipper and his passengers as their cruise goes a bit off course. So now that guests will be following another skipper’s boat there will be skipper figures as part of the scenes that the boats pass. Another addition will be two boats, the Mekong Maiden and the Kwango Kate, added to different scenes during the journey. Check out the video below from a past skipper who is now an Imagineer and helping to write the new story for Jungle Cruise.
These enhancements sound fun and they are in keeping with the spirit of the classic ride. There is no date for when the enhancements will be ready, so all we know right now is that the enhancements should be ready later this year. Once more information is announced I’ll post an update.
