It has been a sad week for the Disney World family, that’s for sure. Two beloved cast members have passed away.
The first loss came on Christmas Eve when the Mayor of Main Street U.S.A. passed away. His name was Christopher George Weaver and he was a favorite among a lot of guests. It is always fun to see the Citizens of Main Street come out and perform. Guests loved to get a picture with the Mayor of Main Street U.S.A. and he always brought smiles to those that he came in contact with.
I remember the first time I met Mayor Weaver. The rest of my traveling party had taken the big kids to go on some rides, so I was exploring Main Street U.S.A. with my infant son. All of a sudden, these characters appeared and they were hysterical! They were endearing and so entertaining to interact with.
I will never forget Mayor Weaver’s reaction to my shirt. I was wearing a t-shirt that said “Love is Louder Than Violence” and he started reading the words on my shirt. Once he realized what it said he started nodding his head and made a gesture with his hand that he agreed. It was an experience that stuck in my mind, I think mostly because of the look on his face, and it’s a memory of Mayor Weaver that I will always have.
Sadly, it is being reported that Stacy Fulford has also passed away. Stacy is best known by Disney fans as Mimi Kaboom. She was one of the Citizens of Hollywood who would put on skits around Hollywood Studios. The skits are always hysterical and there is always audience participation, so Stacy got to interact with guests while she performed.
Since the news broke of her passing so many people have been posting their memories of meeting her and seeing her perform. I don’t know if Stacy knew how many people she brought joy and laughter to, but I really hope she did.
Our friend and owner of Dream Makers Travel Agency, Denise, travels to Disney World often with her family. Her boys love the Citizens of Hollywood and the Citizens always remember the boys when they see them, so they spend a lot of time in that park. I talked to Denise about the sudden passing and the sadness many are feeling. She agreed and said of Stacy, “She was incredibly sweet, and so funny.”
Denise informed me that there is a charity that people are being asked to donate to in her memory, http://betterlifepets.com. Stacy was an animal lover and rescued pets from this organization. For more information about Stacy and the work she did you can visit http://www.stacyfulford.com.
What a sad week for the Disney World family. We at Main Street Wishes would like to extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of these two special and talented people. The laughter and joy they brought will not be forgotten.
Please feel free to share any memories you have of Mayor Weaver or Stacy Fulford in the comments or in either of our Facebook groups: Main Street Wishes and Countdown for Disney App.

Just had my picture taken with the mayor in February 2017. He will be missed.
