Today is the official reopening date of Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They have been doing some soft opening performances lately, but as of today it is officially open, which is making a lot of guests (myself included) very happy.
To celebrate the reopening today, Disney will be doing a one-time live stream of this show. Since they are still distancing guests inside the theater they wanted to give more people a chance to see it. Fans can catch the live stream at 12:25 pm today (5/15/21) ET. The live stream will be available on Disney Parks Blog, @DisneyParks on TikTok, the Disney Parks YouTube Channel, and the Disney Parks Blog Facebook Page.
While the show is reopening today, Disney has said that they have made some changes to the show. For safety protocols they have made some changes to the staging and choreography, as well as parring down parts of the show (such as the acrobatics). There will still get great songs and performances from the cast though, so I’m sure it’s going to be a great show, regardless of any changes.
Below is video for the live stream later today. You can come back at 12:25 pm ET and watch it here, or at any of Disney’s links above.

Festival of the Lion King is my favorite show to see in Disney World. The energy and story telling from the cast is fantastic and I can’t wait to see it in person! Are you excited for the show’s return too?
Thanks for reading!
