Disney had made the announcement a while back that The Polite Pig would be opening in Disney Springs. Today they announced the opening date.
According Disney, The Polite Pig will open on April 10 in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. This new fast-casual restaurant is owned by local Chefs James and Julie Petrakis. The pair already own The Ravenous Pig and Swine and Sons in Winter Park. They are also the owners of Cask and Larder in the Orlando International Airport.
The chefs said the menu will focus on “modern BBQ”, more wood-smoked and grilled items, with a Ravenous Pig twist. On the menu guests will find different southern sides, like tomato and watermelon salad, mac and cheese, and smoke corn with lime butter. Plus there will be seven sauces to choose from to top your meals.
For drinks craft beers and cocktails will be available. In addition to the craft beers and cocktails, The Polite Pig will also have a bourbon wall with over 50 choices!
The restaurant will have an open kitchen and the dining area will seat 190 guests. For the decor, the owners said there will be “whimsical pigs on various adventures” around the restaurant, as well as rustic touches to custom art pieces.
With all these new restaurant additions to Disney Springs, it’s becoming the place to go for all types of dining experiences! We are big fans of bbq in my house, so this will definitely be on the list of restaurants to experience during our next visit.
