Another restaurant has opened in Disney Springs. However, this is a little different from the other restaurants in Disney Springs.
While quite a few of the other restaurants in Disney Springs have fun themes, The Edison seems to take it’s theme to the extreme. This isn’t just a restaurant with an interesting theme, there is also fantastic looking entertainment for guests to enjoy, including 1920s themed costumes and entertainment.
Located in The Landing area of Disney Springs, Disney describes the theme of The Edison as “Industrial Gothic” and if you watch the video below you can understand why. It really is different from anything else in Disney Springs and I think it looks very cool.
The building occupied by The Edison is supposed to look like a 1920s electric company and judging from pictures and the video they did a great job with the design. There are different areas in the restaurant with designs relating to the overall theme. These areas include:
- The Lab
- The Ember Parlour
- Telegraph Lounge
- The Patent Office
- The Tesla Lounge (I love that they included Tesla in the design of the restaurant)
- The Radio Room
- The Waterfront Patio
Check out Disney’s video below for a look inside The Edison.
In addition to the design of the restaurant, the food also looks really good. The Edison is open for lunch and dinner serving American cuisine that sounds pretty good. They also have cocktails, beers, wines, and house-made punches. For those on the Disney Dining Plan, just be aware that The Edison does not accept Dining Plans (according to Disney’s website).
Menu Items Include:
- Pork Belly Pops
- Crispy Fried Chicken
- The Edison Burger
Hours of Operation:
- Sunday-Wednesday: 11:30 am – 1 am
- Thursday-Saturday: 11:30 am – 2 am
On Thursday – Saturday nights starting at 10 pm guests must be 21 years or older. There is also a cover charge (Disney Parks Blog says $15 and Disney’s website says $10) and a dress code that is enforced beginning at 1o pm. The dress code states that,
Guests arriving after 10:00 PM each night must wear venue-appropriate attire. Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts. Jackets are optional. No ball caps, sleeveless shirts or flip-flops allowed.
This sounds like a great place to spend an evening while visiting Disney World. It’s nice to see some nightlife coming back to Disney Springs (anyone else still miss Pleasure Island?). We will definitely be stopping by The Edison the next time we are in Disney World.
What do you think of this new restaurant?
Thanks for reading!
