Animal Kingdom is set to get a new show in Spring 2018 and fans of the movie “Up” will be excited. This new show will be starting in time for Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary too.
Guests will get to see Russell and Dug at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur village. During the show the duo will go on an adventure, discovering different birds from around the world.
The new show sounds like it’s going to be pretty cute and fun. Both of those characters are very entertaining and the movie “Up” is definitely one of our favorites. This change falls in line with Disney’s recent moves of adding more characters to the parks. Epcot is adding Guardians of the Galaxy and Remy and Hollywood Studios adding two new lands based on movies (Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge), so it’s not surprising that Animal Kingdom is getting more characters too.
Unfortunately, with the start of this show comes the end of another show. In order for Disney to get ready for this new show the current show, Flights of Wonder, will be ending on December 31, 2017.

I was sad when I heard Flights of Wonder would be leaving, my husband and I love that show. But I have to admit I am so excited for the Up show, I love that movie. I just wish it would be starting sooner, we go in January so I guess we’ll have to wait till 2019.
