This week’s ears in the spotlight are good for a day at Galaxy’s Edge.
It’s pretty easy for Star Wars fans to see the inspiration for these ears. The cute, fuzzy creatures called Ewoks were used as the theme for this headband. Specifically, the inspiration is scenes with Ewoks from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
As a kid I always loved the Ewoks and watched The Ewok Adventure many times, though I had nightmares about the monster Gorax from the movie (that thing was scary for kids!). Just for fun, here’s the trailer for the 1984 movie. Special effects have come a long way!
Ok, on to the ears. The color theme for the whole headband is light green. Each ear has a screen print of silhouettes of Ewoks. One ear has an Ewok swinging from a vine in the forest. The other ear has two Ewoks walking across a log bridge with other bridges in the background. The fabric used for the ears is a green woven fabric and green piping trim.
For the bow, the same woven green fabric is used. So the bow is pretty simple, but it matches well to the rest of the headband.
The same green woven material covers the outside of the headband. On the inside is a light green non-slip velour material.
This headband is part of the Star Wars Endor Collection and they’re a great choice for a day at Hollywood Studios.
