Meet Liz
I am a mom to two kids and both of them love Disney (I may have had a hand in that). My husband and I try to take the family to Disney World as much as we can. We always has fun on our Disney trips and love it there!
I have a background in radio broadcasting and I love the creativity that goes along with the industry. So, I decided to branch out and try my hand at blogging. It’s fun! I love writing about Disney everyday 🙂
I always have so much fun when I go to Disney and I have fun planning trips to Disney, this includes helping other people plan their trips. I’ve also been known to research Disney topics for fun, so writing about Disney seemed like a good fit.
I started out just blogging and within a couple of months decided to create a website for the posts, that way I could include other helpful information. I have also designed a Countdown for Disney app with a friend to help keep the excitement going while you plan your magical trip!
I research everything I write to make sure it is true. I love talking about Disney everyday, it makes me feel closer to my next trip and there is always a next trip!

Liz, my family is coming to Disneyworld Dec 4-8 and have just found out that the National Cheer and Dance finals will be held there. I guess I’m a little disappointed , more people than we thought will be in the parks , resturants and busses. The fast passes and dining reservations will also be hard to get or am I making a big deal out of nothing.
If you can give me any ideas on how to deal with this situation I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Hi Charlene!
I have never been during a time when cheer teams are there, but I would definitely have you list of FastPasses and dining reservations ready to go for when it’s time to make them. The more prepared you are the better.
I would also make a list of attractions you definitely want to see. If you have a list then you know the important attractions to hit before you have to go home. And, if you can, try to get the parks when they open. Crowds are usually a little lower when the parks first open and that will make getting on attractions a little easier.
Above all, I would say the number one thing to do is not to stress. It might be a little more crowded than you anticipated, but if you have a plan set in place you should be fine.
We might have some people in the Main Street Wishes Facebook group that have been there during cheer times, so feel free to come over and join the Disney fun 🙂
Hope that helps!
My husband and I landed on that week on our last visit. Hundreds of mostly teen age girls (some males also) & their ‘dance moms’. For us, it was more of the annoying factor. Our oldest son played sports, including traveling teams, for his entire time in school. Those boys NEVER behaved like these cheer/dance teams. They would have spent their time in the resort if they did – and we did Disney with them several times. Most of the cheer/dance teams & their chaperones were rude and inconsiderate. The teens behavior falls on their parents and chaperones. Line saving, walking/cutting directly in front of people, paying no attention to anything but their cell phones, etc. This behavior was in the parks, resorts, Disney Springs & transportation. It perpetuated the air head, snobby reputation some members of this sport have and that’s a shame.
With all that being said, and I do apologize if it seemed brutal, our week was amazing!!! The lines weren’t that bad and we used our fast passes well as well as our reservations for dining.
Good luck!!!!
