Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some really good guesses, but three people knew where the display is located.
Congratulations to Steve, Kevin, and Disney Dennis, who all knew the display can be found at Avatar – Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom. Specifically, guests will find this display in the very detailed queue line for the ride. Located in the Pandora section of Animal Kingdom, this popular ride almost always has long wait times. Unless you get there very early in the day or if you purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass for the ride, chances are you will be waiting a bit. Since it opened, it’s been a favorite among many guests.
The ride is a simulation ride. After going through the queue line, guests are brought into a room where they are matched with an Avatar. After the matching is complete guests are seated on a simulator and given 3D glasses. Once locked in, the screen is revealed and the seat simulator starts moving as the banshee you are supposed to riding on starts flying on the screen. The scenes in this simulation are beautiful and the detail is amazing. At points when the banshee lands on trees or rocks, it actually feels as if the banshee is breathing. They really did a phenomenal job with this ride.
Keep in mind that while the seat simulator doesn’t actually leave the ground, the scenes do simulate flying, so it could be too much for people who are afraid of heights. If you have people in your party who have a fear or dislike of heights, they may want to skip this one.
Congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the display and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
Have you been on Avatar – Flight of Passage?
Thanks for reading!
