It seems a much needed refurbishment is coming to this beloved ride in Magic Kingdom. The exciting announcement of an added Walt Disney animatronic will definitely add something to this classic ride.
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is one of those rides that a lot of guests always have on their must-do list. While some view it as a classic ride that they must see each time, others may view it as a good place to take a rest, due to the length of the ride. Lasting around 20 minutes, it’s a good way to get some air conditioning and get off your feet.
The ride follows a family over four generations and focuses on how new technology has changed their daily lives. In each era, the narration focuses on different innovations, such as gas lamps, the electric iron, the automatic dishwasher, and ending with high tech items like voice-activated appliances. The show takes place in a revolving theater, so guests do not have to move once they are seated. Each time a scene is done, the seating area rotates to the next scene.
With the announcement of the Walt Disney animatronic it seems a refurbishment is on the horizon for this attraction. Nothing official has been announced yet, but it’s exciting that this class ride will be getting some love soon.
