Star Wars is certainly making its presence known around Disney World, especially in Hollywood Studios. So much so, that a land dedicated to Star Wars is being planned. Disney has now added to that with an announcement that came out today.

Recently Disney has live streamed the Halloween party and the Christmas party and it looks like they are going to continue to bring us popular shows and events via live streaming. Disney is adding lots of Star Wars experiences to Hollywood Studios and now they will be adding a fireworks show, which they will live stream on the night it debuts.
First the Jungle Cruise restaurant was confirmed earlier and now another exciting announcement has been made.
Ok, this is pretty cool. I’m hoping they keep this going with other things in the park throughout the year.
The app is called Aurasma and it works with some of the images on Star Wars Weekend T-shirts. It kind of brings them to life. You just open the app and point it at the image and it turns 3-D. I don’t know how they do these things (not very tech savvy), but it’s really fun to watch.
Check out the video from Disney Parks Blog to see the app in action.

Star Wars Weekends are back at Hollywood Studios! All this weekend you will be able to catch appearances from some of the characters from the films. Spot them in the “Legends of the Force” celebrity motorcade, the all-new “Star Wars: Rebels” show at Theater of the Starts, “Symphony in the Stars” fireworks, and that’s just the beginning!
Here is a complete list of the celebrities appearing at Hollywood Studios this weekend:
Something else they are introducing this year is the Rebel Hangar: A Star Wars Lounge Experience. You can find that, along with Darth’s Mall complex, on Streets of America.
Star Wars Weekends runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through June 14.

It’s May 4 and Star Wars fans can find some fun new merchandise available from Disney.
There are T-shirts, pins, water bottles, and plush. If you are traveling to Disney World soon, you will also be able to find some open edition Star Wars themed Magic bands. There will be two styles, Luke Skywalker and a Stormtrooper. Find them in Hollywood Studios, for $19.95, and you can “link them later.”
The next items that will be available, and that I’m really excited about (the radio jock is coming out), are the Second Edition Star Wars headphones by SMS Audio. These are the official headphones of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The headphones will be available as Tie Fighter, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Darth Vader. You will only be able to find them at Tatooine Traders in Hollywood Studios.

Disney has also released a special “I Am Your Father’s Day” T-shirt online from May 4-10.
Here are the stores where you can find the Star Wars items:

Thanks for reading and May the 4th be with you!

According to D23.com, the first Star Wars stand alone film, Rogue One, will begin shooting in London this summer and be ready for release on December 16, 2016. The film will explore characters and stories other than those in the main Star Wars story line.
A second announcement regarding Star Wars confirmed plans to film a Star Wars: Episode VIII, which will continue the main saga of Star Wars. This film is set to be released on May 26, 2017 (40 years and a day after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977).
The big Frozen news is that Frozen 2 is in production. There is no official release date, but Frozen fans will be happy to know there is a second one coming to theaters at some point.
As more information comes in about any of these films, we will keep you updated. For the full article from D23 click here.

Starting in early 2016 the Disney Fantasy will have an entire day at sea dedicated to Star Wars. These special days will happen on eight select cruises.
The day will include a deck party, meet-and-greets with Star Wars characters, Star Wars-themed youth activities, special food and beverages, and merchandise themed for the event.
Along with all those activities is something that Star Wars fans will love. Jonathan Frontado, from Disney Cruise Line, posted the info on Disney Parks Blog, “Also featured will be exclusive at-sea screenings of the Star Wars films and the new Disney XD animated series, Star Wars Rebels.” That’s reason enough to book this fantastic cruise experience!
The sailing dates for this special experience are, as posted on Disney Parks Blog, “January 9, 23; February 6, 20; March 5, 19; April 2 and 16, 2016. Departing from Port Canaveral, the seven-night Western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and our private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.”
