Last year Disney made a decision that upset a lot of guests. They cancelled the popular show Off Kilter in Epcot. The show had a big following and people started petitions to try to save them. The band did not come back, but was replaced with a Canadian Lumberjack show. This was just over a year ago and now it seems that the lumberjacks have performed their last show.

Weekly Tip #30 – Getting Sprinkled With Pixie Dust
There are different ways to get pixie dust in Disney World. The most common reference is when cast members do something really nice for you. For instance, if you get upgraded to a better room people will say that you got some pixie dust. It’s really nice when that happens, but there is another way to get pixie dust.
World of Disney Gets More Space
The World of Disney Store is probably one of the most popular stores on Disney property. There is good reason for that, it’s huge. Seriously, if you are looking for Disney souvenirs or gifts to bring back for people this is your store. There are several rooms, each with different themes and products. I could easily spend hours in this store, especially since it has just been expanded.
Countdown to Disney Screen Fix
Just wanted to write a quick note to let those with the Countdown to Disney app know that we are aware of the screen issue. Something in the latest update messed with the screen display (the screen height has been reduced) and we have submitted a fix for review. It’s just waiting to be approved by Apple.
New Restaurant Coming to Animal Kingdom in 2016
With the addition of Pandora – The World of AVATAR, the Rivers of Light show, and the night time experience for Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom, the park is getting some upgrades. That is not all that will be new at Animal Kingdom though. Disney has announced a new signature dining restaurant will be opening in Animal Kingdom as well.
Weekly Tip #29 – Looking for Hidden Mickeys
There are so many things to do in Disney World and a lot of them rely on being somewhere at a certain time or waiting in lines. Things can get a little crazy if there is too much packed into one trip, but there are some things you can do to slow down and just have fun. Plus, you don’t need to be in the parks for this.
It’s a well-known game and all it involves is looking for hidden Mickeys. They could be anywhere from being part of a sidewalk to being in the design on your hotel room curtain. We had never spent too much time looking for hidden Mickey’s in the past, but this time around we wanted to see how many we could find.
We had a lot of fun with this, because both the kids and the adults got into the game. So anywhere we went on Disney property we were on the lookout for hidden Mickeys. It’s helpful when you are waiting in line for a ride and the line is not moving fast. We would get the kids looking for the Mickeys and they wouldn’t get impatient waiting in line.
I’m excited to see what hidden Mickeys we can find during the next trip! Disney is pretty creative with the placement of a lot of the Mickeys. Some people have written books about finding the Mickeys. So if you just want to know where they are in the parks, you can pick up one of those books.
Have you ever looked for hidden Mickeys?
Thanks for reading!
