Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. Clearly, it is located in a popular spot because many people knew the location right away.
Congratulations to the 17 people who commented correctly that the decoration is located at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios. The restaurant can be found in the Echo Lake area, next to Hollywood & Vine. This picture can be found hanging above tables in one of the dining areas. This restaurant is different in that it’s almost like an improv show. All the cast members who work there are part of the family, so you could have a cousin, an aunt, an uncle, etc. who is waiter or waitress. It’s a fun experience, because guests get treated like family, so make sure to keep your elbows off the table and eat all your vegetables!
In addition to the cast members, the decor of the restaurant is fun and fits very well with the theme. There’s always something new to see when you visit. I love looking around at all the decorations and seeing things that may have been in my grandparent’s kitchen growing up. So this place is big on the nostalgia and that’s one of the reasons guests love it.
The 50’s Prime Time Cafe serves both lunch and dinner. Menu items are the same for both meal times, as are the prices.
Menu Items Include:
- Appetizers
- Beer-battered Onion Rings
- Cousin Amy’s Iceberg Lettuce Wedge
- Grandpa’s Crab Cake
- Chicken Noodle Soup
- Entrees
- Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken
- Cousin Megan’s Traditional Meatloaf
- Caesar Salad with Chicken
- Cousin Harold’s Vegetable Garden
- A Sampling of Mom’s Favorite Recipes
- Mom’s Old-fashioned Pot Roast
- Caesar Salad with Salmon
- Desserts
- Traditional Warm Apple Crisp (also served À la Mode)
- Dad’s Favorite Chocolate-Peanut Butter Layered Cake (also served À la Mode)
- Ice Cream Sundae
- Mom’s Brownie
There’s also a separate kids’ menu that has appetizers, entrees, and desserts. For those looking for specialty drinks, both non-alcoholic drinks (like the EARidescent Sip-a-bration) and alcoholic drinks (like Grandma’s Picnic Punch) are available. Guests can also order from the wine list or beer list (both craft and draft are available).
The 50’s Prime Time Cafe is not just a place to get food, guests also get a little entertainment. So if you’re looking for a fun meal, and don’t mind participating in the fun, then definitely make a reservation here!
Thanks to everyone who played along and congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the picture! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
