Disney has decided to follow suit with other companies releasing movies early, due to the current global situation. So starting today fans will be able to download Disney and Pixar’s newest movie, Onward.
The movie looks really cute and you’ll hear some well-known voices from the Marvel Universe. Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Chris Pratt (Star-Lord/Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy) are the voices of the brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot. From watching the commercials, this movie looks like it’s pretty funny, but also that it has a lot of heart.
Disney’s Description of Onward
In Onward, teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot (voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad, embarking on an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van Guinevere. Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries. But when the boys’ fearless mom Laurel (voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus) realizes her sons are missing, she teams up with a part-lion, part-bat, part-scorpion, former warrior—aka The Manticore (voice of Octavia Spencer)—and heads off to find them. Perilous curses aside, this one magical day could mean more than any of them ever dreamed.
Beginning at at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST fans will be able to purchase the movie on digital platforms for $19.99. It will also be available on Disney+ beginning on April 3 in the U.S.
I love that movies like this are being released early. It helps break up the monotony of being stuck in the house every day. I know my family is definitely planning a movie night for tonight!
